Did you use Alan's article for the gatehouse?

I think I will eventually I've got the Golden Hall as a 3D Jigsaw Model, but will eventually build that as well with a detachable roof so you can use the interior

I like to use wood as it adds to the feel of it compared to foamcard and is easier to obtain

Wonderful work there! The gate is fantastic, you have a real eye for details. All your hores-head designs look splendid. The back stair on the gate are also fantastic. Did you use spackle for the brickwork?

I also love the stables, should be an amazing project. 8)

I used household filler then used a hobby power tool to make the stone effect

Terrific scenery, IanPlant! :yay:

These palisades remind me to the Rohan fortresses in the “Battle for Middle-earth” computer game. Like TheBucklandBrewer said: the atmosphere is a 100% Middle-earth! Already one can hear Éomer yelling his orders: “Rohirrim!”
(What have I done all that time in the East? I should have been with the Horse Lords from the beginning… :? )

And it isn’t even painted yet… keep us updated!

Sorry to necro like crazy, but was there ever any development on this project?

Would love to see some updates, currently designing my own Rohirric structures.

I haven’t touched in a while. I was only thinking the other day I need to get it out of its box and do some more work on it

If you still have the plans for the gatehouse, please share. The Tomes have been down for about a year now.

I don’t have plans as such other than the images on the dvds and freeze framing the film and anything that was on my computer has sadly been lost due to hard drive failure sorry
