The skin tones are great! I love the face too. Is that the Mordor troll or a different one?

LordElrond- ive got pice of heavy armor, which i could always glue ;)

Rognarr- On the belly for the base is dwarf flesh, highlights are made by adding white to dwarf flash.
The skin is made bu using us field drab from vallejo model color.

Beowulf03809- the rim is allredy done :)

kidterminal- really, i dnt know is this mordor or isengard troll. I like head without helmet. Ive decided not to use armor, becouse i like to paint his belly :-D

Some lovely painting but I am bemused as to why you didn't fill in the big gaps around the trolls neck and shoulders. You are obviously well used to green stuff judging by your awesome looking captain, so a simple gap fill should come very easily to you?

I agree with Freddy. You have painted your figures extremely well but the gaps on the troll need filling.

I wouldnt worry about the armour at all, The whole idea of a multipart plastic kit is that you choose what to put on - no point having 5 trolls all with armour and helmets.

Improvise is what I say

very nice indeed

That is something which seriously annoys me about the GW plastic troll - the kit would be great if all the parts fitted neatly. It is a bit much to charge £25 for something which requires filler to hide some obvious seams.
I do like the different paint palette though it is a bit pristine for me (trolls are not famous for their peraonal hygiene, I am told). The dwarves are great!

pre-ordered one at the time for £15 and bought a second from maelstrom games for £13.50 a few months after - still don't understand the massive price jump

I really like the bases and the base rims!
Painting them in 1 colour would make them a bit unrealistic imo.
The way you do it creates a certain '"flow".
Impressive work!

Exactly, i think the same.

ukfreddybear- Yeah, you got right. I dont know why, why i didnt fill this gaps. When he was in black paint, connection between arms looked good.
I'm not very good at sculpting, my captain got hair, and fur on the back done with GS, the rest is just converson of the plastic parts ;)

Dorthonion- Good point! Ill try to add some "dirt" effects ;)

Thanks a lot guys! You inspire me to keep painting :D

You're improving at a tremendous rate! :yay:
I especially like Dwalin's face - just brilliant!

Well done!

Wonderful and the little touches make a huge difference. The dark patches in the corner of Dwalins Eyes are just what's needed.
If anything I would have an extra touch of highlight across his forehead and just a couple of spots on his jacket that hangs a round his upper thigh / waist area on his right leg.
If you look at the model as a whole, the face is so full of expression and colour that the coat seems a touch flat.
I want you to know I don't just believe in giving praise without adding a little that I feel could add to the painting. Your talent is progressing beautifully so long may that continue.
