I am going to start on the tower and rock outcrop to the right of the stairs. I will need to cast more blocks. The plastic tower is standing in for the present

Thanks. I started on the next core sections. I found two doors I could not see on the drawings.

Image

I am unsure :? The door under the stair may be an arch.

I may trim the pink foam a bit more when I add the rock face.

I am looking forward to photos!

Many of the concept drawings were modified by the set designers. Then came CGI I am not sure how much of this will end up a old fashioned matt painting.

And I thought my Cirith Ungol was tall, sheesh. It looks fantastic though with a lot of play room to make great battles on.

garmenhord, Yes it is getting out of hand.

Harfoot, "hope they do the 6th to complete the set"

Me too! I hope Allen Lee does another sketch book too!

Sithious, "a lot of play room to make great battles on."

I had the Raven Hill scenario in mind before I got carried away.

Thanks all for the nice comments.

I need to get a sheet of MDF to cut this base. I am going to keep this modular.

I will finish the roof today.

Your attention to detail and faithfulness to the film designs is something to be admired. Great work! 8)

Well it is not exactly right. I would need to use all pink foam to get the texture right. I like using the Hirst Arts blocks. Thanks for the nice comments.

Image

I cut a template from foam core. I will use it to cut MDF tomorrow. I discovered an error. I could not see this side from the set photos. Easy enough to fix. I am going to use the light gray cracked flag stone for the roofs. I will use the field stone bridge mold parts to make the bridge more obvious.

Image

The bridge will look better with an arch.

Thanks.
Yes,
floor#203,281,282,
walls#281, 200,51,
stairs#53,60,63
fieldstone#70,74,75

I would have had to cast #53 over a hundred times for the fan shaped staircase. I have some custom/homemade stair molds to speed that up.
