Rognarr, I haven't thought about it that way, but that's a far better interpretation for the goblin I think, way more acceptable for his companions :-D

Hey guys,
finally I started the fornost troll, it's very rough at the moment, wire armature, built up with polymer clay

It looking really good bro, keep up the good work, that said I think you use your fingernails(covered in a little water) to smooth down those scales a bit.
The musculature is looking really accurate to a lumbering brute like a troll, especially the slight hump in the back.
I have sculpted trolls before, they are tricky.

ps: I'm loving the hammer looks just like the one the Norse titan carries in Age of Mythology: the titans

This sculpt looks really promising, even when it was just at the clay stage.
Keep up the good work 8)

I think you made the chest muscles a bit too big, they reach a bit too far to the arms that is..

here you have a human for comparison in a similar (roughly) pose:

Apart from that it's still a great sculpt and I admire your enthusiasm! :)

It's wonderful this abominable creature, however I am struck with the resemblence to spielbergs Gremlins(facially and with the boil?)

You're right, It actually do resemble a gremlin. All I can say for my defence, is that I'm aiming for this troll to look alike the one from the LotR game, hence such face. :)

This is fantastic!

But is it just me or is his left arm a lot longer than his right?

Hello again guys

we won't be meeting with the troll anytime soon (at least until he is painted),
so here are some photos of fornost buddy finished, with sand, stones and a bit of stone flooring to represent ruined city

Thanks for all your opinions, comments, I'll be sculpting some more trolls in the future and will make sure that they will have better proportions

That troll is great! I like the restless corpse too but his legs look a little short.

Stunning - I admire seeing the sculpting talent on O-R. This is a very angry troll. The only thing I think I would change (if I could sculpt at all) is to make the head larger back to front - the width and depth are fine but in the second image down in your last series the head looks smallish as seen from his left side. Other than that, and I qualify it by saying that painting might alter the perspective slightly, a wonderful piece of work. Very well done!
