Thanks :!:
They appear to be Plaster of Paris. They soak up paint and are soft. I broke the finger off the new one. Then glued it on backwards before I finally fixed it. The two in the close up appear to be knock offs. The bases are much thicker and they have lots of air bubbles. I made a clay press mold for the figure that is attached to the pine bark so that I would have three.

Hey you found the third, excellent :) I see there's gonna be three WIPs of these trolls soon if DMS starts, should have been the first terrain competition :)

Regarding the moss on mine, the paint job I did was just the undercoat for moss foliage to be suck on which I found on the internet, it hasn't arrived yet but online it looked pretty good. That's why there delay on mine getting finished :(

Yours a looking awesome by the way :)

I cut down the base because it will need to fit on a shelf. I decided to glue the Troll to the section. I will not be able to keep the finger from breaking other wise.
Is any one else having trouble with photo bucket :?:

Thanks :!: :!: :!: Every one for the complements on the trolls.
I may have to change out the tall tree so that the trolls will fit on the shelf. I am not going to cut the tree it is too nice an armature.

   I had a thought I will go out and buy some strong magnets and I will be able to put the trees in the tree box and the troll on the shelf :D

won't be able to do much for the next few days

Excellent work OMW. I was having probs with photobucket but put it down to compatibility with my old browser (ie7). When I used firefox it worked fine.

Cooking-pot?

If you can’t find one: I took a (very) small flowerpot and knocked off half of the rim & side.

Congrats on catching the AWOL one! 8)

Thanks. I was looking around for a Halloween caldron in the right size. I may make one from a ping pong ball. I will try out the flower pot too :!:

I added bases because the plaster is so soft and I wanted to add magnets to hold the figures instead of gluing them down.
I am not sure I like it

The bases will look fine once they are painted up to match their surroundings. Great idea with the magnets, allows you to have numerous different terrain pieces in which your three marvelous trolls can feature.
