It's been a long while since I've posted anything here but various other projects and then a house move (and now redecoration) have kept me busy.
However I have just received this rather lovely piece back from the gents at Shadow & Flame, Beruthiel (Queen of the Black Numenoreans).
I know some people aren't exactly enamoured with her sculpt but I always liked the art work and miniature so wanted something special for her and she will now make a lovely centrepiece miniature for my LOTR display shelves. You can see further pictures of her on the Shadow & Flame website: http://www.shadowandflame.co.uk/#!Queen ... c6436e9a8f

Good luck with the redecoration. It's always more difficult than one initially imagines in the first place.
I loved Beruthiel and it was beautifully painted by DMS. I always envied you guys in the UK, who obviously had the means to get to your hands rare and unreleased miniatures.
enjoy your latest acquired mini!

Thanks Paliouras,

Just received this beauty today, please forgive the terrible phone camera as there are much better photos on Dave's thread.

I can't wait to get the time to paint him (and I suspect some minions for him to command at the same time) though it might be a little while off yet.

The last time that I looked at this thread and commented was back in November 2012 when you were painting WWWII models. Since then, you've been very busy. 8) I especially love the Fallen Dwarves army. The colors work perfectly with each other and for the models. Excellent work! :yay:

There was only one thing that I thought of that you could add to the army to make it stand out even more. With the fire on the banners, I was thinking that you could add wisps of smoke coming from the fire. I'm not sure how to do it myself, but I've seen it done. It's only a suggestion though. :)

Keep up the great work! 8)

Can't tell you how happy I was to have the miniature in hand, he's going to look great on the tabletop.

2012, how time flies! Thanks for the comments and I certainly have tried to keep busy (I've painted up far more than what you see in this thread for lots of other games ranges) but I'm dying to get some LOTR painting going again, the only hinderance at the moment is the new house (two rooms down, eight to go) though I'm hoping I'll be able to get back to hobbying after Christmas even if only in a limited manner.
The wisps of smoke would look impressive and I may well look at doing that sometime in the future.

I had a funny phone call with Anvil this morning along the lines of "call me asap the new dwarves are going up on the store today... but what are we going to call them??"

There were a few iterations, luckily I have an overall theme and future direction so after quickly consulting a thesaurus online I concocted the Draken Blades and the Dragon Guard around 11am.

(Dragon Wardens, Honour Guard etc.etc. were thrown out there as potentials).

It's largely irrelevant as people can call them whatever they want haha.

So anyway, if these sell well it will be a green light for me to progress the next phase: dwarf centaur tribe archers and rhino assault cavalry.

Well I've got a sizeable collection on their way to me which I'm going to work on as soon as they arrive (should nearly double the size of my army). I'm really looking forward to the rhino cavalry so hope these new additions do well.

They have landed!

More on them on my blog along with a rather splendid force which Gandlaf painted up for me:

Edit: One slight issue, I can't remember if I highlighted them with gun metal or chainmail!

Cool! I've been considering picking up some of these guys to use as Iron Hills Dwarves. Probably out to finish my Durin's Folk Dwarves first, though... Sigh.

I've also finished off the unit basing for Azog's Legion so I need to get a photo of them done this weekend.

Due to enjoying the rather fine weather we've been having progress on these has been slow but some progress has been made none the less:

I have to admit that I wasn't overly keen on the two handed weapons but as soon as you get some paint on them they start looking the part, I'm hoping to have them done by the end of the weekend and then start on the Dragon Guard.

Just as a little aside I've added the new units to my LOTR army lists for Kings Of War:
