Lmao funny about the teeth but excellent work nonetheless. Im sure orcs dont have much time to show their teeth in battle anyway at the rate they hit the earth lol.

That looks a lot more than just a test scheme! Jeez, very cool look you have created there, not seen anything quite like it before really. Unique for sure!

Both the pattern and the choice of colours works wonderfully here, great stuff.

The snakeskin is very well executed and not something I've seen before.

Wow, that snakeskin design is very cool, though it looks like it took a while! With all those gems on him, you're going to be the DMS v2.0 :P

Thanks for all the awesome comments. I started this and finished it on Sunday afternoon. One paint session. I had remembered there was a painter on TLA that used a Toothpick and I thought it might help me be consistent in size and easier to keep in line. So I tried it out and it worked awesome. I was able to shade and then go back to highlight area's without making mistakes which is key. I also could sharpen the stick when I needed too. So anyone wanting to try this effect out on anything should try it. I tested it on paper first which I recommend with most paint testing. Hopefully next weekend I can get the second one done, then the third the following week and give me one week to try to work on a fourth model for the contest. I want to try doing a tattoo, like a good full sleeve design, on an abrakhan guard or something like that, again, have no idea how, but I will research it and not knowing will not stop me from trying.

Very nice. In relation to the NMM sword, add some very dark blue, blended toward the hilt. This will help the lighter colours pop out more.
Very original work and refreshing to see a completely different version.

Thanks for the replies. I was able to get the third one done. Did some fine line work on this one as well. The dots take a while to lay down, but it is xv-88 over a rhinox base. Shade with rhinox, shade with green ink, shade gain with earth shade.. very light shades here, just glazing. Then highlight with Balor brown, then highlight with Balor/Bone mix 50/50 but do this while looking from the models top side, only hit the area's that would receive direct over head light. Always you can tone back with rinox to do an area over. Anyway, here is the third one. I am sculpting one as well but he won't be ready for a while.
Image

The gold, includeing the fine line, is Gehenna's gold mixed with Chain mail, 50/50. Then wash with rhinox. Then pick out again with original color. Then highlight with mix+50% chain mail again. This will make a muted gold color. I repeated wash and highlight steps on the fine line, tricky but brings it out more.

Almost wouldn't mind coming across those on the table if they all looked like that. Almost.

Only thing is that the green feels a bit out of place on the bow and swordhandle (on the second guy) - personally not a fan of repeated colours on very different surfaces. Scabbard design on the third one is also very nice, thought that was sculpted on for a moment there.
