Nice WIP to follow! I only had a few BGIME when I was young, such a shame that I did not keep to it... Keep up the good work!!

Hey guys
First of all I wanna thank you all for the comments and interest on my wip.
It means a lot to me to have such excellent help and tips from you all :-D

Well, last weekend I managed to finish my Gondorian Banner Bearer.
Like Merry, I feel like I could have done a better job, but it is ok since I'm taking this BGIME issues as a long term course on this hobby eheh

Also today I've finished Galadriel and I'm really pleased with the result. She just needs the base done.

Lovely work on Galadriel skin. The face is smooth and very elven. Get some very thin black or dark grey to glaze some definition into the folds of the cloak and it will make the White extremities stand out.

Hey Mally, thanks :-D
Well, I'm always feeling like I'll ruin the mini if I "exaggerate" on the shading and highlighting. I dont know why, but I do  Maybe lack of trust in my (few) skills ..

So much better, well done mate. It's funny how far you can push the extremes with white, you can even go to almost black in places where the folds are deepest.

My pleasure Jimmy and credit to you for taking the advice on board and using it to improve. You have come on leaps and bounds from your first efforts.
Your way forward is using the glazes as you have been and being bold about the contrast between light and dark. Then we can start looking at the different colours to create warm and cold effects.

Fantastic work on Galadriel - especially the face - the skin tones are spot on :yay:

I know what you mean with this, for I feel the same way. I'm not much as fan of doing this too, but I really like some results of it. I'd say lack of trust in skills plays a great part with it, but you're doing fine with it. Really wish I could get that level of painting.

Nice selection that will come in very useful.
The Vallego Matt warning is excellent, I coat my whole figure in it after painting and you hardly notice any difference. I use it neat, don't bother diluting it.

Well, I've been using Vallejo Matt Varnish spray until now, but I felt like I should try the bottled one only because it gives more control...
I'll give it a try and then I'll make my mind :)

Brilliant skin effect on Galadriel, looks very feminine and elvish. I'll watch with interest on how you get on with the varnish as it's something I've considered but not used yet.

As an idea for the varnish, all the below were competely coated in Vallejo Matt Varnish before photographing.

In fact everything I complete is varnished before photography.
