I like your painting bureau. Wish I had one.
Do you ever manage to close it?

Just finished a few other modelling projects which have taken up a lot of time recently.
Spent some time getting the overall colour of the wings right, i am happy with them now, obviously still i need to paint all the fine detail like the scales by hand.

The base i nearly finished, just a few more treasure chests to paint!

Thanks for looking

Total time 25 hours

Great too see the progression on this Paul.
The wings look great, nice work with the airbrush and that pile of treasure loos a nightmare to paint.

Oh wow. He's looking so good, I'd never have the balls to attempt something as big as that. Keep up the good work!

Still debating whether or not this model is worth the cost for me... The more I see it the more I don't want to paint it. lol.

Wings look awesome, muted colors are perfect.
Good luck on the rest.

The wings are amazing. Well done man! I'd be willing to die if I could paint so well on a model like that!

What's not to love about this? You are certainty doing the model justice, something I don't think I could do.

Ah, Mally they are not easy, due the skin texture, infact if you look at the GW version they have turned a join into a fold of skin on the neck, just before the front of the wing, so i think they had trouble. I will post a picture when I am painted it.

Cheers everyone

Very nice work. I would have a team of bodyguards standing watch over that beastie after all the time and effort (and expense) that has gone into it.

^Harfoot must be locked away in a dungeon somewhere working on it. 25 hours of work the last time he posted an update. I wonder has there been a completed Smaug on this site because I haven't seen any yet?
