I was just wondering who we think will get the three new spells that still don't have profiles, this is clearly just guess work but thought it would be interesting to think about.

Banish (anti spirit), Curse (anti-fate) and Fortify Spirit (magic resistance) are the three spells

Personally I think Curse is for the Necromancer and poss. the Witchking maybe. it clearly a spell for Evil as he's the big new spell caster.

However, my big jump in logic and the thing I really want your input on is that Banish and Fortify Spirit are for a new Galadriel Protectress of Lothlorien style profile, I think with the Dol Guldur story line and
Click to: Show
Gandalf explicitly telling Radagast to basically go and get Galadriel
and the fact she is character in both trilogies now means she will play an important part in the next film so GW will want to make a more badass and distinct profile for her. Currently whilst she's good she not noticeably different or special like Gandalf's blinding light from many other magic users (in WOTR she has almost the exact same profile as Gandalf for example)

I was thinking just the same, it only makes sense because what other major spellcasters are around?! Smaug may get something but I don't think curse would be it more like transfix/compell/sap will stuff.

Honestly Im just hoping GW does re-do all the White Council's profiles at all for the movie. We never got an update in the movie for Gandalf, whom in the second movie was able to basically teleport (or blind masses of enemies for a second to move past them), he could generate force fields to combat the Necromancer, and he could dispel other auras around him. Yet in the game, he can do none of this. I fear we wont see much change at all, but if we do, I imagine your theories are correct about what hero would get what. Also there is a forth spell that is not accessible either: the channeled version of Paralyze is currently impossible to use. So I can expect to see someone with Might and the Paralyze spell. This could also be the Necromancer.

To your point on Gandalf legion, he already has cast that shield before, vs the Balrog. He also had that beam of light that hurt the fell- beast in ROTK and Word of Power that he used in AUJ. He won't get a magic update as there's no need. Magic is powerful enough, banish and curse are unnecessary IMO and a 3rd Galadriel profile is something I hope they do not do. Two is plenty. If they want a new profile for anyone give it to Glorify and bring him into the assault on Dol Guldor and he can have banish

I had not thought about Glorfy at all I would love if they showed him in the movies, I love his lore and use him in loads of my army lists so have tons of found memories of heroic last stand and glorious massacres with him it would be great if he got some movie love. I really hadn't thought about him being in the movies for some reason, I'm even more psyched for TaBA now

Anyway back to game Glorfy is already great but either of the two new 'good' spells would fit his lore and general badassness well, it would also give him some extra uniqueness in the face off the growing number of 'uber' heroes with high fight, defence, courage, 3 wound 3M 3W 3F.

I didn't really mean a 3rd profile but a change to the protectress version, copied this from elsewhere but it gets the point across nicely

'Spooky Galadriel: -1 courage is nice, as is causing terror. She is only strength 3 though which is incredibly sexist. Also she cannot lead troops wtf?'

If she's going to be a big character in the next movie (fingers crossed) this profiles a bit just meh really it has no 'x' factor to it it's lacking that something special you want but with strength 4 or 5(maybe to much) and a couple of new spells and your really on to something

What do you think am I on to something or completely off?

You've just got to resign to the fact that she will get an update though if any other elf deserves to amped up with some spells it should be glorfindel as he is the greatest fighter left on middle earth at this point in time, probably the last of the great elf warriors, I mean balrogs are not the easiest to kill and his done that.

I think ElfGeneral that you're completely correct on what will be done. However I don't think it needs to be. Her War form is great, The only good model that lowers enemy courage (which makes charging her near impossible), she has a little magic and 3 attacks with an Elvin blade is plenty. She is only strength 3 but until Tauriel all female characters were. If any changes should be made it should be to mimic her WOTR profile and let her strike against opponent's courage (keeping the -1 special she has)

I couldn't agree more on most things still want her to have strength 4 just so she equal. I actually use her a lot but what I said still stands I want her to have that something extra. It's the same reason I don't like the new Thrain profile stats are great but for his price I want something more than an extended standfast, the Azog rule is really limited to one hero so not really an ability that you'll use most games.

What you said about attacking courage is really interesting she could be badass in WOTR, I do really like that idea in SBG that would be that something special I want. She'd be a great troop and hero killer :)
