Just off the top of my head Aragorn or Faramir. Both can get good armour, horse, bow, and have good MWF points. Although Legolas could be put in their as well. Please don't let this thread turn into "My Favourite Film Character or Something." They always do . |

well... Dain Ironfoot! he's a great leader with 12" stand fast and C7, has such heavy armour that no enemy can penetrate it and a wonderfull axe. Ironguard, two attack S4 beasts with throwing axes and a very reasonable defense of 6. |

Sauron eclipses anything, his spell casting ability is second to none, he has that crazy rule allowing to strike anyone in combat and he has the ring ... or at least did have |

Well yeah But he makes all the gams boring (whilst wearinf the ring) and the other thing is that He cost very much So you woun't include him in any normal 'fun' game |

I'm thinking the core gondorians, farimir, boromir and aragorn. Faramir isn't quite as powerfull as the other two at combat, and for less points, thus is more flexible point for point. 6 might points seems a little specialized, no? |

i think gandalf is one of the best, he can imobalize people, use defensive skills so arrows wont hit so much and he can be played agresivley to and make people fly around the board with a blast, not to shabby in melee with high strength to! |

Here's my thoughts: I find my rangers of the north cause all sorts of problems for the enemy, with good stats, a bow and 1 M/W/F point to boot. Also they have a courage of 5 and being a hero, thats a 25 point "stand fast!". So you can't go wrong with them. For average bods I think Easterlings have got it. they get def 6 and pikes, not to bad points wise either. For good, warriors of arnor do well, F4, def 6 and with spears all for 8 points! all you have to do is keep them within "stand fast!" range because they're only courage 2. As for a named hero, I think legolas has my vote, with good stats and melee ability and then there's that bow...... He's one of the few named heroes that can make their points back. |
