When a hero finds themself in a role off to see who wins a tie during a duel, can they use might to alter the fire roll? I always assumed this was a proverbial coin flip used as a last resort and couldn't be altered.

I'm pretty sure it cannot be altered.

I've never seen anyone do it.

It cannot be altered.
In chapter "heroes", "might" "modifying dice rolls" of the hobbit rulebook it clearly mentions all the cases where a hero can use might to modify dice rolls, and this case is not one of them.
