Ok heres the deal, when you have a special rule like king of the rohirrim (the whole formation uses theodens fight value not just the company hes in) does that mean that you gain more bonus dice because the whole formation has a higher fight value, or is it you don't have to worry about your opponent gaining any bonus dice when fighting that formation. Or is it that im just over thinking this to much.

You gain additional bonus dice. This doesn't effect the number of dice your enemy gets at all since "a Hero's fight value only helps on the attack." (p64) |

let me write out a quick example to see if im understanding this correctly. so lets say there is a formation of WoR with theoden in it (fight 3 without theoden but fight 5 with him) fighting a formation of orcs (fight 3) with a captain (fight 4). and only two companies from the WoR are able to strike directly, from what i understand both companies will gain +2 dice (total of 4) because of theoden, but the company with the orc captain still gains +1 dice because a hero's fight value only helps on the attack. |

Precisely correct and a rule that people all too often forget. Dragon Knights - brilliant for doing more damage, pointless for protecting troops
