Hi, im new to the board so I hope I have posted in the correct forum. I have read many of the other posts for reference but couldnt find a consensus on the following issues I encountered in a game last night. Comments appreciated. Moving Epic Heroes. P68. Once per turn at the start of his formation move. If his unit is disordered is he moved before or after rolling to re-order? As a house rule I think it makes sense for him to move before, as if the unit fails then he is stuck as they would have benefitted from his courage to make the role. Magic and Disordered p.35 if passed "may move, shoot, charge and so on as normal". "its leaders have their hands full preventing warriors .. from fleeing" Whilst it doesnt explicitly prohibit using magic, I think the spirit of the rules mean a character cannot use magic if the formation is disordered. |

Young Bearded, My reasoning is this: The rules for Epic Heroes say that you can move to another formation 'At the start of his formation's move'. (p68). If you move before the test for disordered formations is made then, IMHO, you are not part of the formation's move. Once the dice are rolled you are. I agree with you that the 'so on' bit should include magic. More importantly, what part of these rule interpretations would have stopped my Balrog adding to its tally of 1 King's Champion, 2 ballista, 2 companies of Dwarven archers and 2 (or was it 3?) companies of Dwarven warriors? I think we both agree on the rules interpretation. I just though there was value socialising to the board as I hadn't seen those points discussed. So are we now 3:1 in my favour? Maybe you need 2 Balrogs next time |
