I was thinking of fielding an ent or an eagle in my army. Do they need a leader/captain from the wanderer's of the wild list?

So for example if I want 2 eagle's I would need f.e. bilbo/gwaihir/treebeard?

Yes, since both the eagle and ent are warriors you'd need a hero to lead them. The Wose chieftain is a common choice to bring one since he is so cheep and has three might. If its an eagle you might as well just bring Gwahir himself to get the m/w/f on the monster itself.

Also yeah ents and eagles need a leader. You can go ghan buri ghan as mentioned and take woses. They're fantastic.

Or you can go oldschool and just take treebeard. 3 might 6 will and 3 fate with huge defense fight and 3s everywhere. He's so hard to kill.
