I'm returning to the hobby after being away for several years and was trying to decide what I wanted to do for Lindir. Looking at the unarmored model he doesn't really look that much different then Elrond and can be equipped the same way (horse, armour, elven blade), so my question is:
Would you (players of the hobby) have a problem with someone using the Hobbit Armoured Elrond (on horse and foot) as Lindir if the Armour and horse where painted a different colour scheme then I used for Elrond (who is the same model)?
My plan is to Paint Elrond in the scheme as you find in an Unexpected Journey (something I never got around to doing before my hiatus), and to paint a second one in a similar scheme as I have my Eregion and Rivendell Elves. Looking at the model I'm not sure what I could do to change it much given it's fine cast and the pose (and my lack of sculpting skill).

I would make SOME attempt to modify the miniature. Perhaps even just a simple head swap for a head with a helmet. It would make it stand out enough from the basic model, especially if it had a different paint scheme as well.

Thanks for the reply. I'll go over the miniature again and try and come up with some way to modify it. I'm not a fan of a head swap do to the hair that coves part of the chest. I don't have the skill to either file it off and use green stuff to add detail or sculpt parts of the hair to match it with the new head.

I think most people construct Lindir from the Rivendel Knight set. However if your certain you want to use the Elrond model a head swap would probably be essential just to help distinguish the two. It's really not as difficult as it looks as long as you're careful and remove any bits like the hair one bit at a time. Hair can be really easy to sculpt using greenstuff especially if you're extending from higher up on the model.
