So i've decided to start with expanded to a small grey company battlehost.

in the LOME book it says they ignore the bow limit ,it say's i may INSTEAD have 4 rangers of arnor for every ranger of the north or dunedain...a couple of things

1.does this mean that for every ranger of the north or dunedain hero i can have 4 rangers with bows?

2. do aragorn ,arathorn and halbadar count as rangers of the north /dunedain? ; can i have 4 rangers with bows for aragorn choice , then 4 rangers with bows for arathorn choice etc.

3.i take it the INSTEAD means i can chose to play by the normal 33% rule with grey company also, true?

Thanks guys

1. yes
2. no
3. yes, for example if your only hero was Halbarad, then only 33% of your rangers could shoot.

Couple of things to note about GC. First, that rangers all come with bows...you pay for them in the profile and there is no way to drop the bow and gain the point. (Same goes for Riders of Rohan.) So if you're going with the 33% limit, the custom is that only those rangers posed as shooting can actually fire their bows.

Second is that GC with 100% bows is not very fun to play against, so if you're trying to have fun with others, make a point of getting into the fray rather than just advancing into range and then backing up. Your friends will appreciate it :) Personally I like using GC as allies to replace the bow contingent in, say, Gondor, so it would be roughly 67% Gondor without bows, and 33% GC. Feels fair and has good flavour.

Arathorn and Halbarad are great mid-range heroes. Hope you enjoy!

A nice thing about the GC bow is that your rangers of the north can perform all the heroic actions with their might, and your heroes like arathorn, can waste all of their points killing enemies!

I think its all got complicated.

With grey company you ignore the 33% bow limit and replace that with the idea that for every ranger of the north or dunedain you can take 4 rangers of arnor.
Twins/aragorn/arathorn/halbarad are all ignored for the purposes of this calculation.

but the 4 rangers for every dunedain dont have a bow limit right?

so in theory i could take 3 dunedain and that would give me access to 12 rangers of arnor with bows?

Each contingent in an allied army must conform to it's own rules. They don't inherit from each other, if that's what you mean.
