I'm in the processes putting together my first LOTR SGB army and I don't like getting resin figures if I don't have to so I've been trying to find the older metal easterling command box set. Does anyone know where I could get some of these guys? There aren't any up on eBay right now, anybody know an online store where I could get some, or maybe somebody has some sitting around in their local hobby shop, or maybe someone has some to trade? |

These are a tough find, I've been looking for an additional set and they seldomly come up on the secondary market. |

I'd love to get a set of these too. I have almost completed my Easterling army prior to painting, and these are on my wants list. |

I see, I was afraid of that. Well Clearly the only logical thing for me to do at this point is to eliminate the competition to increase my chances of acquiring them. Starting with you two... |

Do you hate finecast enough to spend upwards of 3 times as much on these miniatures? because in all honesty that's what you're looking at to get them in metal. The release window between when this set was first available and when it was replaced by the finecast version is quite small and easterlings weren't uber popular during this time (in comparison to other armies which featured more in the movies). Honestly, I recommend just buying it in finecast. Finecast has come a long way since it's painful release, and while far from perfect, its not impossible to get good miniatures from a finecast set. Buy direct from GW so you can easily replace dodgy miniatures if need be. The alternative is to wait for them to come up on ebay (been watching ebay closely for a long time, and I think i've seen a metal dragon knight once, and none of the others) and then pay a small fortune for them. |

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/201050681357 ... 1423.l2649 Please excuse me, I need to go eat my words. I've just spotted these on ebay. I can't say for sure that they are metal, the add has them incorrectly labelled as plastic. Based on the way the swords are slightly bent and the fact that it's sold as a set of 3, rather then 4 as the FC kit is, I'd bet it's metal. |

That price above is only cheap if you are in Austrailia, it's twice the UK RRP. |

Nope thats cheap these days. RRP goes right out of the window once a model is OOP for a while. If theyre metal £35 is a steal. |

Agree with DMS. You will not find a better deal on these miniatures (assuming they are metal). It's not a hard and fast rule, but there is a good number of now oop miniatures that, due to either their lack of popularity at the time, or short window of availability, are now freakishly expensive on the second hand market. For example, if you want metal gundabad blackshields for example, you're going to have a bad time. I recently saw a nib set of dunlanding warriors go for 3 times Aus retail (about a month before i picked up the same nib set for Aus retail!). |

Well I have to say you all make a convincing argument for the resin figures, Looks like I'll have to pick them up instead. Why don't they just make all the figures plastic in the first place? |

I would trade the metal three pack for the FC 4 pack any day of the week. but I painted mine. but same goes for my Gondor, Rohan and Harad command three pack metals which are MIB right now, I would trade for the FC 4 packs any day, any time. |

We probably have a set at my game store. They do mail orders. Phone 1-888-220-2121 or 1-403-245-2121. Details at sentrybox.com They have *lots* of LotR stuff. Sentry Box claims to be the biggest game store in N. America, so if they don't have it, it's e-bay or bust. |
