Privateer Press, makers of the P3 range of paints has issued a product recall on their Rhulic Gold paint. From their website:

"It has come to our attention that a limited run of just under 500 pots of paint, Formula P3 Rhulic Gold paint (PIP 93079), was incorrectly made by the manufacturer resulting in overly thick paint and pressurized contents. If opened the paint may spray out of the pot.

If you purchased individual pots of Formula P3 Rhulic Gold from July through October 2007 and suspect ANY problem, do not open, or continue to use the paint if previously opened. Return the paint to Privateer Press for a free replacement.
"

Visit their website here for more information.

I have recently discovered these paints and find them to be a wonderful addition to my collection. They have all the obvious colours of course, but they fill some of the gaps left by other ranges - their range of metallics is very nice and so are they greys and greens. The paint pots are larger than some other manifacturers and the paint seems to stay wet longer too making it easier to blend colours (I could be imagining that mind you).

cool, the paint will come out of the pot by itself! Wonderful invention! Would be very interesting for me, a straigh-from-the-pot painter!

Eheh, nah, honestly, this doesn't sound very good at all!
However, I might take a look at their range though :)

Self applicating paint... for the really lazy hobbyist.

I have none of their paint so I am off the proverbial hook on this occasion.

I have about 20 of their paints now (including 4 browns) and have this Rhulic Gold colour. It's gold with a reddish tinge to it - a nice highlight for bronze or copper. It hasn't exploded yet thankfully.

I do like their paints actually and in general I prefer them to GW and Vallejo. They have a wonderful range of greenish-grey shades that are PERFECT for slate and concrete flagstones, and their Khador Base Red is far superior to Blood Red.
