Painting for D&D is what got me into this hobby. I miss that, just painting a completely different creature or hero every session I painted.

Awesome work. That is a cool Mimic, Seldom used monster cause it has to be right or the PC's will spend hours at every single chest inspecting it 10 different ways and daring the thief to just open it. Enjoy. Would be great to see D&D battle reports.

D.M. = The Jarl has offered you beds for the night and the maid Helga leads you upstairs to your rooms.
PC Warrior - I stab the beds with my +2 Axe of Firebrand to make sure they are safe."
PC Wizard - and I cast Detect magic and Detect Evil, in that order...wait no, cast Aura of protection from Evil, then cast magic missile at the wardrobe."
PC Thief - I pickpocket Helga while she is distracted. Then I search for hidden passages incase we need to escape quick from the furniture.
PC Wizard - I changed my mind, everyone wait here I am going to Fireball the room just to be sure. And Thief you should kill Helga now with a backstab bonus, this is obviously a trap, even though this is our tenth stay at the Jarls Keep.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Sithious, very funny. Yeah the Mimic is sort of a one shot monster.

I wrote up a quick tutorial on how I made the base. Please check it out on my blog:
