Did a little something for fun yesterday afternoon/evening. Imperial Astropath I've had collecting dust since last September. Decided it was time to get some paint on him and here's what four hours yielded:





My first ever attempt at OSL, be gentle I'm not sure why I chose that robe color, it just appealed to me. That's paint on half his face, not OSL, btw.

Finally got some decent lamps and stuff for pics, hopefully they're a wee bit better.

Try to paint it like this:

Your light is 2dark for me If i were you i would start painting with darker colour, everything would be darker than on your mini. It would be easier to paint OSL at that.
You should also improve a blendings. You know, smooth etc.

Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely keep that in mind.

I'll try to work on blending. Maybe I'm not thinning my paints enough.

Your astropath looks really cool. OSL on a larger scale is more difficult to pull of than the small ominous glow from a plasma gun so well done on the Astropath. I've always liked that model and thought it would make a great psyker.

It seems I've missed a few updates.

great osl on the astropath, perhaps you should make the light on the staf a bit brighter but really great.
And nice work on the templars (the guys with robes guns and chainsaws are called templars if i'm correct )
The terrain is good aswell, nice sturdy and simple.

WOW...first post in over two months. I gotta say, it's a nice surprise to click "view new posts" and find over 600 results....

Painting has been slow, excruciating and incredibly boring as, believe it or not, I'm still working on the same Black Templar commission. Thank God I'm on the final Tactical Squad, and have a massive paycheck awaiting me.

I may update soon with some pics...either way, it's good to see the site again. I've got some High Elves on order for Christmas, will probably start painting them around New Years', and I'll definitely post some pics then.

Yeeeeah, I'm still gettin' after it with a brush. This was my first set in three months, be gentle

I set the resize option to 640 x 480...didn't save, I s'pose. I'll try and get some bigger pics up soon.
