I've been collecting and painting for years but never really played. Well GW finally opened a new store in my area (Belconnen ACT for the Aussies) so I've decided to get down and enter a tournament, meet some other gamers and have some fun. So I've put together a quick list as a starting point. My idea was to use a variety of my models to see their strengths weaknesses and just have fun with it. So here is my 450 point list Faramir, Heavy Armour & Shield 4 WOMT with shield 4 WOMT with spear and shield 4 WOMT with bow Denethor 3 fountain court with shield 3 Citadel Guard 3 Rangers with spears Captain of Dol Amroth 2 knight of dol amroth 3 axeman of Lossanach 3 clansman of lamedom 4 blackroot vale archers TOTAL 450 that's 36 bodies on the table, 11 bows, and 5 might. What do you one-ringers think? |

Oh gee! That's my local store, and that point-count seems familiar... I expect to see you there! Anyway, the list - I might actually skip the bows amongst the Warriors in exchange for more shielded infantry, maybe making up the numbers among troops with better archery stats. I'm honestly not a fan of the Citadel Guard either, thanks largely to the existence of the (more expensive, true, but much superior) Fountain Guard. I might also swap out the cavalry for some more fiefdoms infantry. Aside from that - I'm guessing the model choices have somewhat to do with models you already own? which does make suggestions a little more difficult. |

Awesome, I'm looking for some practice matches! The dol amroth knights are on foot so it's all infantry. I do have more fountain court, rangers and womt. so i'll see if I can rework it |

That looks pretty solid, I've got to admit...  Not sure if it's an option, and at this points I'd probably not take it anyway, but considering Denethor's disadvantage, might it be worth taking a warhorn? Though that effectively makes Denethor 50pts and takes away some of his value, I suppose. |

Yeah if I was going to spend the extra points to fix him I'd just swap him for a captain. But the fun of denethor is his being broken so I think I'll live with it. |
