I have decided to put together a force for the Men of Dale, i was after thoughts and opinions;

600 point Force
King Bard of Dale with heavy armor (kings of men)
4 x Personal Bodyguards (rohan royal guard)
10 x Men of Dale with sh & hnd wp (warrior of rohan)
12 x Men of Dale with sh and sp(not throwing wp)
11 x Men of Dale with bw & hnd wp

Allies
Murin & Drar
Meneldor(giant eagle)

41 models 9 might 12(13 including Drar's 2 shots) bows

So what does the community think?
Strenghs and weaknessess of a force like this,
What armies could defeat this force?

Looks cool though a more bow-oriented model to represent Bard would be nice. I think in the next WD they'll have the SBG stats for Duinhir. Hopefully he'll be able ally with Rohan and might have decent bow-skill/rules that's not way crazy like Legolas.

That looks pretty cool. I was wondering what models are you using as men of dale?

Not really, his ability to shoot a model anywhere on the board just doesn't make any sense. Anyways, you hardly ever use Legolas. :P

Going back on topic...

The army basis seems good but as has already been said maybe make a seperate profile for Bard and Prince Brand, also you could make some profiles up for some special units.

As for how effective the force will be, unfortunately in my opinion Rohan is a trash army without cavalry so I'm ot sure if it will fare too well without some additional units. The removal of throwing weapons takes away what little advantage they had. They will match Orc 1 for 1, but they also cost more, I would just try to break enemy forces by picking on weak targets and use your superior courage to outlive the enemy without taking too many casualties yourself. Of course, this is all against an Evil army with lower courage, so I'm not sure about anything else.

Now i planned to use the warriors of rohan as the men of dale with a different paint scheme, perhaps even a few conversions,

And the rohan royal guard as the Personal Guard..

with an army like this my tactic's would be pretty simple for the most part, the archers to attempting to inflict some sort of damage with Drar leading them, and Brand & Murin linking up to lead the main army, with the eagle roaming working as anti-caverly, flanking ect...

i took the throwing spear's out to make it more themed, as the men of dale would not of had throwing spears, any idea's on what units they could of had? to give my army a little bit more deversity,

I just looked through Legolas' rules, in my opinion it's unclear whether or not he has to at least partially see the model.

Barrel riders? :-D Joking aside, you could maybe give them wargear options for Elf and Dwarf weapons to represent their close proximity to them.
