i was thinking 750 when I said that but why would you not take all cav? They are even weaker in short numbers, taking away from them for even weaker foot troops doesnt seem practical. Its just my personal experience, whenever I try to split their numbers unless Ive got Gondor supporting them in infantry form. Their infantry always slow up the game and generally dont produce enough kills to outweigh their cost. they are fragile but fun to play with, and if you take all throwing spears can be nasty.

they cant rank up true, but i have the woses in there now for extra support with spears and blowpipes. also im trying to keep this fluff friendly and unless eomer found a time machine him riding with eorl wouldnt happen (would be epiic tho)

Stranger things have happened =P i get the fluff friendly inklings though. let me know how the Woses work out for you, I never saw them at retail and missed out but if they are worth it, I'll get some for sure.

As the game goes on and the shieldwalls break down into smaller combats you can team them up with the warriors of rohan to take out Defence 6 enemies that the rohirrim would struggle to take out on their own.

'cause you guys are both new: you've basically just revealed the Wose's profile and special rule. We're not allowed to do that, it's copyright material. The rules are in Return of the King journeybook, or may be on GW's website. About the most you can do is post the point costs for a group of warriors in the context of making an army list.

Why are the gaming sites still sticking to that rule( or are they?), everything except the mordor supplement is on GW's website in PDF form for anyone to download. Im thinking from the perspective of us being well past the hay day of 2003 when GW wasnt letting anything go public with info/stats and you had to buy the rule books to get any information at all. Which is completely fair and I understand that, but why now?

I'm assuming because it is still GW property and they get to decide how and when you'll see it. Why would you want to risk the site being shut down?

Besides, I'm sure they'd rather you have to go to their site to pick up the PDF, because then you might be more tempted to buy something...

Correct, the GW pdfs have pictures and fluffy descripsions added for marketing reasons.
