Hey so I have a Rohan army and I need help making a 700 point list but I also want to have some magical support as well. I really want to have Theodred in this list as he's my favorite Rohan hero. Also should I ally in for some spear support? Rohan really lack this on foot. I don't have a list to build on so this will be from scratch.

All help will be appreciated thanks

If you ally with Lothlorien you can get spear support (Galadhrim and Wood Elf warriors) and magic (Galadriel).

I find though that that is a waste of their fight 5 myself which is why I don't use them for allied spear support.

We had a similar discussion here when the Guard profiles were released: pikes with F6, which puts them in the back. Didn't make sense to me at the time, but others convinced me that it works out, and is even historically accurate, where you'd stick all the newbies up front, supported by the vets. Spear support changes the odds greatly. 1-to-1, the model with the higher fight has a 16% greater chance of winning. 2-to-1 (where the 1 has a higher fight), the 2 models have a 16% greater chance of winning. As the newbies die off, the vets keep the odds of winning higher.

So it should work, so long as you expect Rohan to be slaughtered :)

Yes, strength 4 makes a lot of different if you are a good army. Most evil armies nowday are defence 6 and stregth 4 does make a difference.

Woses are also a perfect addition to rohan armies. They are cheap for only 7 points and they have a spear and blowpipe so they can shoot or give support.

what do you think about fiefdoms allies? I have found that they have everything I need to counteract my Rohan army's weaknesses. I get Pikes, higher fight values, high Defense knights, 2 handed weapons...

Yeah but if you use Dol amroth what do you want to do with the rohan troops? Normal rohan warriors are useless if you ally with dol armoth bercause dol amroth has much better front troops and the rohan army doesn't haves any spears.

Perhaps, but to ally in the Rangers you'll either have to drop some of their bows, despite still paying for them, or also ally in some Warriors of Minas Tirith.

You could just do the same trick without losing bows and taking a few dunedain.
