I am looking at two ideas for lists. Give me your thoughts as to what you think is a better direction.

add Elven Blades & Heavy Armour

Elven Warriors x3 (10) 30
add Elf Bow & Elven Blades

Elven Warriors x10 (9) 90

-or-

I think the first one is much better, but that is only because it isnt hero heavy. Though I would guys with spears shields, and swap a few of the guys with elf blades for more guys with spears. Also I prefer giving the guys with bows spears rather than elf blades as that offer more flexibility.

As to your second list, it only has 10 might right now, not 12 but if you wanna do that one I would recommend dropping at least Erestor and replacing him with more guys, either a few high elves with armour, shields and spear or more wood elves, maybe even a couple sentinels. If you wanted to do a Thranduils Halls only list, you could just put legolas and thranduil as hero's, throw in a few sentinels and fill out the rest with wood elves.

Hope this helps.

I would give armor to the bowmen – this gives S2 bows (a very common number) a 6 to wound, cutting their chance in half. Also, it doesn't make much sense to pay for heavy armor and not take shields for your spearmen (who will likely see close combat) this is because S3 models (another quite common number) need the same number to wound on D4 as D5, so you might as well not be wearing it at all against these troops. D6 is a much more solid number IMO.

Just my 2 cents.

Exactly what I was thinking. CreatureFear has a good point about the bowmen, armour will increase their usefulness and make it more likely that they will pay off their points.

Yeah I like that, though i do have to point out that 22 elven warriors with spears, shields and heavy armour would cost 242 points, so just drop it to 20 of those (giving you a grand total of 42 models) and you are good to go IMHO. Your numbers are pretty good as far as high elves go, just be careful not to get flanked. Lastly, I usually give all my bowmen a spear as well, but you dont have to, as you have given to 2/3s of them.

I agree with Noddwyr, the list looks good, especially the numbers (for a High Elf army).

Yeah, might is good. Not sure how nesessary elf bows for the monkey twins are. Maybe swap 'em out for an extra warrior.
