Hi all! I've been lurking here for some time and finally decided to join up. I have been collecting Games Workshop's LOTR miniatures for about 4 years now and I absolutely love the hobby (despite GW's ridiculous prices), having participated in two doubles tournaments at Warhammer World over the past couple of years (coming one before last and last, respectively, lol). I have loved the works of Tolkien and Peter Jackson's films for as long as I care to remember, and I think that the game brilliantly conveys the spirit of Middle-earth. Thanks again, and I'm greatly looking forward to sharing tactics with you all! Gandalf |

Welcome to the community! I'm sure you will enjoy it here. Don't worry about finishing bottom. Someone has to fill that role, and the best bit about that is you can only go up from there! |

Welcome to the One-Ring. Good to see someone who knows who Young Master Gandalf actually is My chief tactics are insanity and frequent use of The BAZ00KA. |

It's funny you mentioned that-I remember fighting against the chap that dressed up as Legolas but that wasn't me. That was the last of the six games we played and we beat him 94VPs to 0! Had that been this year we would have scored quite highly overall but because the focus was on the Battle Points that year we ended up 47th out of 48. It was one of those "oh drat" moments! What was your team name? I might just remember you-we were 'The First Company' |

Thank you for your welcome-and you are right, somebody has to come last and tournaments are still tremendous fun! A pity that 2012's tournament focused chiefly on the acquisition of Battle Points-If not for that our 118VPs would have put us fairly high on the list! Cheers, Gandalf |

Welcome to the site AinurOlorin, it's a lovely community to be a part of, lots of fun to be had here! Have we perchance had the pleasure of a game? I've been at the last 2 doubles tournaments playing as 'Rocks on Toast'. Who were you guys this year? |

I believe we may well have had a game-I certainly remember hearing that team name before. We were 'The Blood Gods' this year and we had an alliance between Thranduil and Haldir with Tom and Goldberry in tow. Cheers, Gandalf |

When we played against him he was very relaxed and wasn't bothered at all about the margin by which we beat him! By that stage of the tournament we were fairly near to the bottom table and so we were playing more for fun than for competitiveness! Cheers, Gandalf |

Looking through some of the other threads I do indeed remember your army list if not you yourself-the Radagast's Alliance/Rohan force wasn't it? A nasty force I must say-I have been planning for a while to build a force similar to that one. I don't really do conversions but that mounted Radagast is fantastic! Cheers, Gandalf |

Yep that was us! Thanks for the kind words RE force and conversion but it was a fun, fluffy list rather than a particularly competitive one - still managed to scrape 2 wins though! I remember your army, looked cool, didn't fancy playing you guys, what with Thranduil's Nature's Wrath and all our horseys! Hopefully catch a game with you at one of the upcoming tourneys, there's one at the end of July and one at the end of August |
