Want to have some lorien leaves bases for my galadhrim.

I am trying to decide whether to choose a more golden colour true to Tolkien description or a more orange autumn one.

I think the gold looks better but orange is used less. A difficult choice. Depends on if you want them to be more different from others or have a more traditional look I'd say.

I would do a mix true autumn colours yellow and hints of orange.
Can I ask how you made them, and where to get it ? I am Most interested !!

By mixing you mean mixing the two colours in the same base? I tried that this morning and I wasn't satisfied. Anyway, the yellow base has a orange subtle tone.

The material is free If you can get it : they are birch seeds.



Well, actually, it's what protect the seed. Number 8 in the pic. Easily painted with an airbrush and glued to the base with PVA

Prefer the gold. Seems more elfy. Depends on whether you're doing golen armour or not though, don't want a clash.

So blue and gold will be the main colours hmm...
I think I'd lean towards orange then
But to be honest I think the orange looks better because it makes the earth beneath it an earthy colour unlike the yellow. Perhaps making the leaves yellow but washing the earth with brown might be good..?

Definitely mixed. Both look fantastic but the quantity of yellow is quite overwhelming on the golden base. Of course, this would not be the case with a miniature perched on top of the leaves, but still, throw in a few orange leaves to break up the blinding quality of so much yellow. The contrast will also give the base a much more autumnal feel in general, and also brighten the yellow slightly due to the difference in colours.

Ok so It seems like the mixing idea won. I will be painting then mixed and show you the results with the galadhrim on it next week on my WIP.
