Hi guys,
I've got Arathorn and Halbarad in metal, and plastic glue failed to stick Halbarad's arm on.

What would be the best glue/ technique to use for this?
Superglue?

Thanks,
LordElrond

Yep, some superglue should work fine.
I too have tried desperately to use plastic glue on metals but it never works.
If you want added strength you might want to try pinning it (drilling a hole in both components and putting a small rod of metal (I use paperclips) though both holes when you stick it together) too.

If all else fails, I find adding a wee bit of greenstuff to both parts doesn't hurt, either :) the superglue makes it harden almost instantaneously.

Depending on the batch, games workshop super glue is very good. But you do get rubbish batches of it and nothing ever sticks.

Well I have no idea about the super glues that are sold in UK but as long as it has Cyanoacrylate (superglue bonding material or simply put the liquid that is pouring from the bottle) it should suffice. :)

Yep, super glue is the way to go.

Plastic glue only glues plastic to plastic. Normal glue forms a bond that holds the two things together, plastic glue has an actual chemical reaction with the plastic and melts the two pieces together.
This means that plastic glue will bond two plastic things better than super glue will. The two plastic parts will become one with plastic glue, whereas it's just the strength of the super glue holding them together with super glue.

Why does this happen so often? It is called plastic glue because it is meant to be used for plastic. Don't use it for metal, FC, wood, stone, grass or anything else because it will not work.

GW super glue is some of the best quality as some cheap super gluew wear off after a while, but there are others.
