Hello everyone, I've been playing around with prowlers quite a bit, using normal goblins as proxies, and have been very happy with how they perform. So now I'd like to covert a good number of goblin shield men into prowlers. A lot of them will be getting hoods and bandanas, no doubt, but I'd like to go a bit beyond that. Partly to keep it interesting and partly because some of them, the guys with helmets in particular, just won't go very well with hoods. I'd like some ideas of what things to add to give them a more prowlerish feel, and to satisfy WYSIWYG requirements. It'd also be nice to have a look at what others have done if you've got any images you'd be willing to share. Thanks. |

An interesting question which I'm interested to hear about. Comparing GW's version to the standard Goblins, it seems the main difference is in the cloth and armour. Prowlers have a lot more cloth (hoods being the main thing but long sleeves and such as well) as well as less armour (none on the arms or legs) and what is there is chainmail. They also have daggers and other small objects. Prowlers seem to be elite Goblins that do the King's dirty work and so have a sneakiness about them. For conversion ideas I'd suggest extending cloth over armour with green stuff (mainly over the arms and around the head), strapping on a dagger here or there and potentially changing the weapons. The 2H Prowlers wouldn't be hard to convert using spearmen, but as you're talking about goblins with shields, then maybe a one handed axe or changing the dagger to look better. You'd assume their equipment would be of higher quality. Give them a different paint scheme to normal Goblins (which is helped if they have a strong cloth colour). As long as they stand out, it's good. They're just my thoughts anyway from someone who's contemplating it. I'm rather curious as to what others suggest. |

I'd give them some cloaks... that's what I did for my Mordor stalker. Found that the WHF skaven nightrunner cloaks work perfectly. And yep, a different colour... Paint them in your spot colour if you like. Just some thoughts |

It's been a while but I've finally put together a couple test minis. I tried to give the guy on the right a serrated blade but that didn't quite work out (need to think of more cool weapon ideas). I'm thinking of converting a couple of archers just to mix up the poses (and since I have more than enough of them already), hence the guy on the left. I was a little too lazy to get rid of the quiver, tried to make it look more like a regular bag instead, maybe a case of throwing daggers for the next one? Thank you all for your feedback. Nice thoughts cal585 |

nice conversion, perhaps try to get a few with 2 hand weapons, that seems to be the theme with the gw prowlers, also perhaps use the bases to make them look prowlerish, perhaps sneaking through some rubble or something |

Some nice looking prowlers you got there. I will try and get pictures of mine up today. *edit* And here they are. I converted and painted these a while ago, so the sculpting/painting is not the best, but hopefully they can inspire you! |

Thank you theavenger001 for the pictures. You've got some very neat conversions there. |

Thanks. Feel free to copy any of them. Quite a few of them were copied from other people, and a couple of them were from an article on the old thelastalliance. |
