So, I'm certain I'm not the first to ask this, so feel free tossing me to older threads, if they exist.

I'm curious what's the best way to get Elves with hand-weapons and shield; more specifically the Last Alliance/Rivendell models. I think the easiest way is just buying Spearmen, and replacing their arm, but that sounds expensive, and rather work intensive. Any easier solutions using the plastic models?

What I have done is cut off the right arm+above hand/sword grip on a last alliance elf and rotate it down ( I save the little pommel and glue it back on the left hand which still holds the sword ). I then adjust the arms position with a pin and green stuff ( plus some horrible sculpting ), let it dry and attach a shield to the arm. Done.

Do you have some pictures?
I'm quite interested.

I had to edit the post because I had my arms backwards for the sword guys :(
here is a picture of two conversions. The spear elf was converted using a Rohan Royal Guard spear hand.
Not the best lighting I was in a hurry.

Or just glue shield on the back of Glaive Elves. Will make them a LOT of gold
