Yes I've got it. I use these painting guides as starter. Mostly I add washes, some extra highlights or merge it with another painting guide. Now I was looking voor inspiration for GoldBerry. F.e. in the FoTR journey book: DRESS - Scaly Green - Skull White Is there a way I can accomplish this with washes? Thanks |

I use Spacewolf Grey as a basecoat and then use very light washes of skull white adding more and more layers as you come out of the folds of the cloth. This is a good method for horses and clothing that you want white with blue shadows. |

I layered it on just leaving a very thin line of scaly green showing where the material meets the belt / folds etc. It took quite a few layers if I remember rightly. I can take a photograph of her lately and post it here if you like |

Thanks for the quick response. The GW version  is more clean. So I think I'm going to try it without watering down the paint.Does they also use scaly green as base colour? |

You still get the clean look watering down the paint - the figure I posted above was painted years ago. If I painted it today it would be clean. |

Its actually much cleaner to due the many, many layers of watered down white. unless you have fast brush and master blending skills and you can paint the scaly green and the white and the same time and blend them in. . . that is a techinque I have not mastered though. |

I could post some pictures of my Goldberry if you'd like. It's not too great but I like it alot. I used Scaly Green basecoat then watered down Skull White in layers that was mentioned earlier. |

Watered down white: do you use it as a wash or do you remove some water before start painting? |

Here are some pictures of my Goldberry. The white is watered down and applied very lightly. You're basically layering it. This technique allows the white to smooth over the basecoat without using mid-colors. Well, that's what I think it does. It's hard to explain. I took some photos of Goldberry with her finished base but the Picture Editor program isn't working properly. So here are some of her finished painted but not based. Good luck!
