i must say im not that good around green stuff but try games workshop to see if theyve got guides and have a look at some models wiv cloaks and try to copy it. you need to think of stuff like wind direction so it dousnt billow in different directtions etc and looks more realistic. hopes this helps :pippin:

I have yet to find any good tutorials on Capes. I have made a few for my dunlending project out of Pro create which in my book is a MUCH better product for modeling cloth and fur. Look at the GW figures with capes Note that they are NOT thin bits of green stuff draped over the shoulders, they are quite thick at the bottom and this helps them stay put and drape right. Orc stuff would be ratty and tattered at the bottom

You could also do what I did for my Urak Hai captain. Go to a bits seller online and buy either a wolf cloak from the Empire Knights sprue, or get a chaos or goblin cloak or two and glue those one!

what sort of heads are you looking for? Most classic 28-30mm heads are a bit too large for the LOTR figures. I have some spare Viking heads but they do not look too much like Gondorians. I know a place that sells really swell conquistador style heads but again may not be what you are looking for

the viking heads sound good

i'll probbally make them have eye patches and bandages anyway. vikings would give them an unkempt rag tag look without diverting from the spledour of gondor.

check out my trade post see if theres anything you'll like to swap anything for themhttp://www.one-ring.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=19532

For orc skin.

What I have done for some is this.

I can't remember it perfectly so this may be wrong but I think this is right.

Scorched brown base. Drybrush bestial brown. Aadd a little bit of bleached bone and grey to the bestial brown mix. Keep adding this into the mix and drybrushing until you get the desired effect. Don't make it too light.

As I said, this may be wrong. Play around with it.
