Post subject: | Invisible Frodo basing ideas |
So i just got the message that the invisible Frodo i buyed over Ebay has been shipped i am happy However, i was just wondering if anybody got some good ideas on how to base him. I was not planning on painting him at all since it would sort of spoil the effect... My idea was to try making a wet road, mabye with some footprints nearby and some grass. However what could i make the road of (like a dirt road) and how could i make the footprints? I guess that with the "wet" effect i could just use woodlanscenics water effects, that i just happend to have Anyway, anybody got an idea about this? I dont need to do him as described, and i am always open to new stuff.. so well just post your ideas please, or your hints on how to make the base. |

Cover the whole base in a thin layer of green stuff, and the push marks of a foot with a minitures foot. Never done it, so I dont know if it turns out good |

Never done it, so I dont know if it turns out good Ditto, that's what I would have done. Just make sure they are Hobbit sized feet though |

You ordered the actual model, the clear plastic one, or an empty base? |

Aqan had made a muddy base for one of his miniatures a while back. You can see it in his WIP thread There's a post by him about how he did it further down the page, the one on Sun Feb 07. |

Thanks for all the ideas! I should mabye have thought of it before, just to stab a few feets inside I wil try it.. however i havent gotten no green stuff... do you guys think air-drying clay will work here..? (have never worked with that...) Also how should i be going with the water?I was thinking about just pouring it inside the footsteps... however is there a good way to make static grass looks... wet sorta? Thanks also to dwarf lord of Ered Luin... that got me thinking a little on how i should paint the mud to... Imrahil Wrote Quote: Wait, what?
