This could be in the wrong forum. Mods please move if so.

I've got an Obi Wan miniature (72mm) that I would like to paint up but I'm struggling with the lightsaber.

I figure if I paint it blue with a white middle similar to NMM it will look stupid from certain angles. I'm thinking about just painting it a bright light blue with no highlights given that it is it's own light source and then use a similar blue to simulate an OSL effect on clothing etc that the lightsaber would emit.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Cheers

Your second idea sounds great. Though this should probably be in the off topic forum.

Your post also..
I think the second idea is much nicer, but also much, much harder.
Perhaps you can try it on a spare sprue roughly the size of the lightsaber.
