Nice! Sorta disgusting though. i mean i make a few (very bad) conversions like repositioning arms and stuff... but chopping them of? Well a nice and different idea.

Just wondering though, personally i wouldnt call these "veterans" as all their injuries looks quite new at least to me...

Also your bases are really nice

Yes, they're not quite veterans. I was just thinken wat oculd happen in the middle of a battle.
Oh, here's another one from my gallery:
Image
Quote:
After taking a good look at my rangers (specific the bows on their backs), I thought it might work with veterans as well. Because when you're an archer in the battle of Osgiliath there will come a time were you must prepare yourself to meet Saurons minions in a man to man combat.

Next, here's my first Osgiliath Veteran I made. I tried to make bandages, I wasn't happy with the results so I covered my whole mini in a iritated moment with blood. Later I painted it black (cause orc blodd is black and it couldn't be his own). But what I like of this mini is that when you take a good look, you can see a red ehhh... Well, like his muscles and sinews etc.
Image
But yes, it was an accident.
SO: Don't use blood in enormous proportions, you just ruin your mini.

When my camera is loaded up again, I'll post more

Well, I'm not willing to figure out Photobucket right now, but here's some of my best in my gallery:
custom Shade
Sculpted that one around the Malbeth model.
WK on horseback
Simple "head swap" on that one, with the shoulder armor sculpted on & pewter sprue for the flames.
Though the fire-sword effect came off better in the on-foot version.

But, my all time favorite conversion is pretty old: Bilbo Baggins
All I did to that one was turn his hand & make a little pipe with a wire and some super glue.

This is a good idea. I really like what every one has done.
The gloss does not photo well but it protects the miniature from gaming.I made 30 of the trees for one of the scenarios in the Scouring of the Shire book. I started converting some of the pikes to wires when they broke during games. I needed a few more so I came up with these.

I like the pikes, a good way to get rid of those useless Uruk-hai engineers. :)

I had some up but it seems my whole account was deleted and so the conversions
These are some prowlers made from normal goblins I put stalagmites on the base to better differentiate them

Image
Image

I made an Urak Hai captain from a regular trooper.A dded the wider crest that the officers used int he movie I cut the old one off, used a jewelers saw to cut a slit and added a crest cut from a blister pack. I used a warhammer fantasy wolf cloak (I know the movie did not show them, but I see my forces as a cross between the movie and books so I take a few liberties. Is wear some folks are more slavish tot eh movies than historical gamers are to osprey books!)
Image

and last some goblin conversions using Wargames Factory bronze age and viking weapons sprues
