Just a quick question.
If I was to take Gil-Galad mounted to a GBHL or Games Workshop tournament, would it matter if he was on an armoured horse or not?

Because, if not, I can just decapitate a Rivendell knight or a twin and stick his head on instead.

Thanks,

As far as I know if there is no official model available then there should be no problem at a GW or GBHL tournament, as long as its relatively clear who the miniature is supposed to be.

He was the last High King of the Noldor, once in possession of two of the Elven Rings, he ruled for three and a half millennia, the only leader at the Last Alliance to rally all of his race under his banner. It took none other than Sauron himself to take him down, and in return he and Elendil proved the Dark Lord's undoing.

Surely, he deserves a bit more than some simple headswap, don't you think?

And his weapons and pose changed, but I just wondered about the horse.

Replace it with either a Dol Amroth, Galadhrim or Morgul Knight Horse. All would give you the Armour and the barding on the Dol Amroth or Morgul knight would give you a nice area to paint

I agree and I started a conversion a few weeks back, for my high elf project in the new year, based on a spare armoured Celeborn model i have but most people find conversion projects daunting to say the least. I'm always worried that I'm going to wreck the models rather than make a new piece :o

It gets easier, but that feeling lingers on. :P Especially when it concerns models that haven't been in production for some time, and are sometimes highly sought after. *Looks at converted Gandalf the Grey on horse, Hobbit Shirriffs, Serpent Riders, ... *

Your right but i still worry when i do that first cut.

The best part though is when you know you have the only model like it in the world :D
