It was conquered by the dwarves of the lonely mountain by thorin the third if I'm correct.
It could be that it was someone else but at least it was reconquered

It cannot be true. Because hobbit written before lotr trilogy. after killing dragon, balin and his companion conquest moria. and 50 years later fellowship of the ring arrives to moria and they found out that balin was died and moria has taken by goblins. i can't remember what books mentioned about it but moria could not have taken by thorin annd his companion.

He means Thorin's ancestors, not Thorin himself.

"Though little information is given, the retaking of Khazad-dûm by Durin VII seems to have occurred during the Fourth Age. He became King of Durin's Folk, and led a final return to the city. He was successful, and long after the War of the Ring, the Dwarves of Durin's line reclaimed their inheritance, and the hammers rang again in their great halls beneath the Misty Mountains until the race of Dwarves ended. "

Its a great site for Middle Earth facts

This is the only information we have:

Thains book wrote:
There is no detailed information on what became of Khazad-dum after the War of the Ring. However, according to one source (HoME XII, p. 278) there came a time when a king named Durin VII returned to Khazad-dum and its halls were filled with light and music and the sound of hammers once more and the realm endured until the world grew old and the days of Durin's race were over.

Quoted from http://thainsbook.net/moria.html. This is a very good website for all your information about the books. :)

Thorin Oakenshield was not Thorin the Third. The Encyclopedia of Arda and the Thain's Book are good online references for all things Middle-earth.

@Sticky Fingersss
'Tis the season for Ye Great Christmas Avatar, so we should be seeing Santa Hats and so forth all over the show.
Even on dead balrogs :)
