Hi there, I'm currently gathering an Iron Hills army and thought of making my own 'Sourcebook' of this armylist. Maybe some opponents will agree on me using this non-official book sometime. I was wondering what people think of my first entry: 'Dáin Ironfoot, Lord of the Iron Hills' This was made for the 'unreleasedminiatures' model. I've been trying to not make it overpowered in any way and it's stats should look a bit like those of the current official Dáin model. This one is just a bit younger and happens to ride a big boar. |

I like it. Its effective and powerful but not to fancy or unwieldy like some others have been. |

I would say lower the defence of the boar to 6 to make it more in line with the other mounts of other armies and maybe increase him by 5points and give him burly - with him being a weapon specialist he should have no problem swinging that hammer around without the -1 penalty. maybe the lord of the iron hills rule could be: all dwarves count dain's stand fast as 12" rather than 6" or similar? |

True. The Boar is something I'm not sure about and true he should have burly! As for the -1 penalty on 2-handed. I gave him an extra Fight value to make up for that. I could reverse that in a way, but didn't want to give him too much text to make things less complex. And I also thought about the dwarves only for stand fast and maybe even 18", but I decided that I didn't want him to be too much different from the actual Dáin model from the time of the war of the ring. |

If you're interested a group of us over on DakkaDakka made this supplement for the Battle of the Five Armies. I believe it's somewhere on this forum, but here's the link anyway. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/downloadAttach/208842.page |

The Boar should definitely not be S5. Combining that with Burly on a cav model would be insane. |

I agree. I think the Boar would be better at S4/D6. |
