Hi I was thinking about these two things a lot. First off Legolas. I know his character is strong and all, especially in the bow department, but honestly, doesnt anyone think, like I do, that the new Legolas at the very least should have a special rule or maybe a better profile? Seems to me, yes, the old Legolas in the LOTR movies could scrap and was serious to an extent, but in the new movie, hes fool of straight up bloodlust and butt kicking. Id like to see points added on to him for his new model. Maybe he was younger and more vicious and deadly, but it seems like it to me.... I think at least he could have a cool rule like twin blade master- Every time Legolas wins a combat roll against two enemies or more, he deals an extra strike, how you would like dealt out, against those enemies. Or something else. But you mean to tell me that Legolas in The Desolation of Smaug has as many attacks as his profile does? No way. Nuh uh. --------------------------------------------- Wargs....the game doesnt do them justice. If you want to keep them the same point value, its cool, I understand, there needs to be some level of balance to the game, but really....this.....is what we get: http://ahobbygonemad.files.wordpress.co ... .jpg?w=450 The dude is not only bigger than the warg, but it looked bad. Now, we have this, updated, and much cooler: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_Cus ... 45x319.jpg But seriously......the guy is still pretty big compared to the warg. In the movies, the wargs are huge and beastly! maybe they wanted to save money on sculpts or something? Idk. But its like the Dwarves, Theodens and his kingdom on that journey getting attacked....when they all heard wargs, they pooped themselves at the idea. I want to see a bigger, meaner model. Not just that, but I do wish their stats were stronger (though like I said, nevermind, because the game balance is thrown off...I can still wish though) Finally, I come to my conclusion. I want this, but on a small scale: http://www.wetanz.com/assets/Uploads/lo ... oglrg3.jpg See how ravenous, and big he is. Look at the chest size and the body generally....its awesome. Anyone think the same? |

I don't feel Wargs are undersized, they were roughly horse sized in LOTR and their models reflect that and no Legolas is perfect as he is lol, he's very unique in his profile and he's quite adept at killing both of which fit him perfectly. True he bulldozed through some orcs in DOS but the game isn't accurate in the disparity between some units (such as elves and goblins) |

I just want their front half to be a little bigger looking. To me it seemed they towered over men. IDK..... And yeah I understand the second part about Legolas, but theres gotta be something else. When Ive put him in hand to hand in this game he dies a lot. |

Yeah I see what you're saying, we may as well have multiple profiles since we have so many legolas models |

Legolas is frankly amazing when used right! I would hate to see his stats change. Its right that he should not have a killer profile in every department, especially as he is the best archer in the game! |

In the film, it wasn't really that he had loads of attacks, just like he was calling a million heroic combats. |

Where did he get the might from?the old wargs didn't tower over men.Its just that when we see them from a mans point of view he's on the ground.New wargs?Still pretty big compared to Bilbo. |

He was fighting Bolg and the orcs in Laketown - Alfrid must have been within 6" On a serious note Legolas is absolutely fine as he is. He's arguably the best value hero in the game, if given an elven cloak and used well he's a game winner. |

Denizen wrote: How about giving him the option for Orcrist? He wields in the movie so... No point, he is not a combat hero and doesn't need it in game. Also he only uses it for a very short period of time in middle earth, i'd hate to see fellowship armies where people blow a spare ten points on giving Legolas orcrist. |

Or maybe a rule when Tauriels on the board too he gets some bonus. I don't know. Its just....he slaughtered so many in hand to hand and apparently hunter orcs have two attacks and lost every single roll off lol! |

Legolas in the current profile is very effective in h2h and ranged. I agree that we shouldn't get an update on that one. One other thing to keep in mind with the Wargs is in H:AUJ a lot of scale is thrown off with Hobbit and Dwarf sizes in comparison to the Wargs. I see DOS this week some time so I'm not sure if they changed for that film. And it was civilians and basic weak troops that had the fit over the Wargs for the most part. Rohan basic cav and Warg Riders seemed pretty well matched but any named character (Hero) was able to kill multiple Warg Riders and Wargs. I think their combat stats, combined with their cheap cost and movement, make a basic Warg a pretty useful basic troop type. When you start to add a rider of some sort you have a lot more complex point value discussions emerge. |
