So, I've chatted to a few people about this and heard some cool ideas, just interested to see what the One Ringers think. So, when Beorn's rules and model are released, for the first time in the game (I think), we'll have a model that can potentially transform into another model mid game, how's that going to work? I'd guess he'll have two profiles, 1 in man form with a similar profile/rules to Dwalin/Thrydan/Lurtz etc. Probably with Burly and fearless/terror against orcs or similar. There'll also presumably be a bear profile which I'd guess will be something like a Cave Troll stat wise again with terror/fearless against orcs. But how do you include him in your army? There appear to be two options: 1) You buy one or the other, the man at around 70 points or the Bear at around 100. 2) There's one points cost (probably about 120?) that covers both forms and somehow he can transform mid-game. I hope it's the second option but I wonder how that would work? Maybe he starts in man-form with a large stock of WIll and every time he wants to transform it costs him a Will Point. Perhaps when he's in bear form he reverts to human form if he loses a Fight. Hopefully both profiles will have their advantages (maybe the man-form can shoot that Great Bow from the rulebook) and there'll be some interesting tactical challenges about when and where to transform. Anyway, there's a few thoughts, I'm interested to see what others think, he should be cool though! |

I reckon it'll be two profiles; bear and human, with no transformation ability mid-battle. |

That would be sad. Actually I wonder how they could balance him as he literally chopped off the head of Bolg in the book. That would mean insane strengh. |

I think it would be awesome if he could change mid game. Both profiles must have their advantages and disadvantages. I guess the man version would have lots of might and a standfast while the bear would lack these but be faster and have more strength. |

He'd have to be on the same size base for both miniatures, probably 40mm, as if the base suddenly expanded, it wouldn't really work.… |

I reckon he will have two forms, and be able to freely swap between either form at the start of any phase, both of which have their own store of m/w/f, once he has been killed in one he is stuck in the other form. |

I think as well that the old Cavalry rules kind of paved the way for something like this with the ability to re mount in the battle. |

Isn't he big even in his human form? I think they might have the same size base if we do get two models. I wouldn't rule out them only giving us just the model for his bear form though. |
