The finecast versions. A box of thirteen (god knows how much that will cost!), individually, or in twos and threes? Like, say, Thorin Fili and Kili, and Balin and Dwalin in another, etc. How? |

I'm not too bothered as long as mounted versions are released. That said, i reckon it will only be Thorin, and maybe young Dwalin/Balin, who are immortalized in finecast. |

You can see pics of the FC versions of all of them on foot in the rulebooks. I persinally reckon they will be one big box set for £60ish. |

I hope for packs of 2 or 3, it will help spread the cost! Imagine what a box of 13 would cost, just look at riddles in the dark at £20 and the white council at £45. |

Personally I think they would release it for 2 or 3 since as Harfoot said it would spread the cost, now if they relesed the dewarves the way they came to Bilbos door that would be awesome. |

In the white council, it's £15 a figure If its that sort of money for the company, it'll be £195 |

I believe they will do what they did with the White Council not the new but the original (with erestor, cirdan and co.). They will release them first all together for a ridiculous price and then start selling them seperately to maximaze their profit |

They might do what they did with the Fellowship, thats 9 finecast miniatures and its something like £35, but then the 9 Nazgul are £45 and all the hobbit miniatures are so much more expensive than LOTR figures, same size with an even bigger price (even though it was already very expensive) |

Bear in mind that (as far as I know) we don't KNOW that the alternate sculpts are FC, they could be another plastic set - presumably Direct only if the Goblin King and Radagast are anything to go by. However, this probably isn't the case and they are almost certainly FC. I imagine it will be one whole box rather than splitting them up, I don't think GW's current marketing strategy implies they would care about splitting the cost for us. From a business decision separate packs also give people the option of not buying all of them, not a good idea. Thorin, Dwalin and Balin would presumably be far more popular than the others at the moment thanks to their use in points match games. As for a predicted cost for a FC box set, the White Council are £11.25 each and Riddles in the dark is £7 per figure (counting the scenery as a figure). Presuming we get all 15 of the company (there's still at least 1 more Bilbo sculpt to be released) I think £150 would be a safe bet. Even if they are sold separately I can't see the total being cheaper than this and I'd guess that it'd end up even more expensive than buying them as a whole set. The stubborn optimist in me still can't see them releasing a box of 15 small figures for £150 but all the other evidence points otherwise sadly As for a mounted FC box set, £15 seems to be the going rate for a mounted hero now so that box would cost £225. Think I'll stick with my plastics from the starter set thanks... |

Surprised nobody's considered the fact that they may release them individually but in duel mounted/nmounted packs... |

Could happen! That would put the whole company foot and mounted at a bargain basement £375 at current prices! Really curious to see where they go with this... |

Hmmm with this in mind, if they did do smaller packs, I'd imagine they would keep the above mentioned in separate packs. Or maybe Thorin on his lonesome and then 6 in either other pack with Dwalin/Balin in separate. I'd imagine with the other Dwarves they would be group them logically. So Fili and Kili would be in a box together, Oin and Gloin in a box together, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur together and Dori, Nori and Ori together. |

In the film the main ones were Bilbo, Gandalfm Thorin, Dwalin, balin, Fili and Kili. If you think that's how it works. And the rest in groups but unlikely. |

Dr Grant wrote: Thorin, Dwalin and Balin would presumably be far more popular than the others at the moment thanks to their use in points match games. Add Fili and Kili to the list based on movie populatiry, and I think this is basically the reason they won't release them in individual or small group packs. I doubt a 3-pack of Dori, Nori, and Ori would sell very well, but if packaged with the more popular dwarves then people will buy them anyways. On the one hand, I find it hard to imagine GW would price a 13-15 figure set similarly (on a price-per-figure basis) to smaller sets like The White Council or Riddles in the Dark, partially because it would end up being prohibitively expensive but also partly because many of said figures simply aren't as popular as the White Council or Riddles sets. On the other hand, GW's pricing of Hobbit-related stuff has been so laughably ridiculous that they can't really surprise me anymore, anyways. |

The Grey Knight has brought up something I was going to, price per figure generally decreases the pmore figures in abox. Lets looka LotR. For a single FC hero on foot £10 each A single mounted hero £15 each Ft & mtd hero £22 (approx £9 for foot, £13 for mtd) Two heroes on foot eg Elrong/Gilgalad £15 (£7.50 each) 3 Heroes on foot eg 3 Hunters (£22 £7.33 each) 4 pack commanders box £24 (£6 each) 9 Ringwraiths £49 (£5.40 each) |

Post subject: | Re: How will Thorin's co. be released? |
That was certainly true of the LOTR range but there's no doubt there's a Hobbit price creep, now it's more like: A single FC hero on foot - £10-£15 each (goblin captain, Narzug, Bolg) A single mounted hero - £Unknown Ft & mtd hero - £25 (approx £10 for foot, £15 for mtd) Two heroes on foot - £unknown but Elrond/Gilgalad & Saruman/Wormtongue are actually £18 now. I agree that I can't see them releasing a 15 figure set for £150 (it'll presumably have the remaining alternate Gandalf and Bilbo sculpts too) but, as the Grey Knight says, nothing would surprise me anymore. You could argue that they'd be cheaper as the models are smaller than the White Council ones but the Riddles in the Dark set proves that doesn't affect price (personally I don't accept that the 'scenery' is a third figure). If they are priced at less than £10 each it'll make the White Council set look even more expensive. Ultimately I reckon they might charge about £120 for it and then have the audacity to claim it's a bargain |

Post subject: | Re: How will Thorin's co. be released? |
Sorry, yes it was £18 now. Yes, the Hobbit items are priced higher, but from what little we have, there seems to be a similar pattern. The White Council doesn't really follow it. The reason for that is, that set is only for collectors. Not many people will actually buy it so they *need* to make as much money as they can. I reckon £100 at most. Until the price rises later. *= want. |
