G'day mates,

I am playing around with the idea of a waterslide decal to put on the bases of my heroes. I have an ALPS printer which I use to make waterslide decals for work, but it also comes in more than handy with my own models. It prints white aswell as metallic inks so I'm using it to print banner decals for my Rohirrim at the moment.

Anyways, I had the idea that I'd like to print off decals to go around the bases of my heroes. I'm going to print the inscription of the ring in metallic gold ink for my good heroes and metallic silver or metallic cyan for my evil heroes. It should really make them pop and I'm hoping it'll work nicely. The printer can handle tiny shapes so I have no worries about the quality.

The only trouble is trying to type the inscription of the ring in Adobe Illustrator. I have the tengwar font family but there are so many characters I just get totally lost. So, could someone send me a document with the inscription written in the font? Or could someone tell me how to get each character using the font? I'd be super grateful and will even throw in a few decals for your trouble if it works . Thanks folks,

Can't help there, but the decals will have to be curved to fit around the base side due to its angle.

Yup I'd realised , I can work out the exact shape they need to be in the software I use .

Ok problem solved. I painstakingly found the code for each character and made the inscription. It was not easy .

I've also warped the text so it will exactly fit a 40mm and 25mm base. All I need to do now is print some off and test them. However I've just noticed that I missed a double tehtar on one of the tengwar so I'll have to corrcet it. Oh well, it won't take long now I know how to do it. I'll apply it to the Two Towers Theoden foot and mounted that I'm doing, if it works well I'll do it for all my heroes.
