Anyone know why TLA is down at the moment? As far as I know it's been unavailable since Saturday.

It's earlier than Saturday for me (or it just feels longer....)

The server is "broke" again , I guess.

Pretty sure Mith said it was a problem with the hosting company being a pain. But it's back for the moment being.

There was a thread in the News and Rumours forum about TLA that explained the current status.

Basically, the original site owner (Mithaearon) hasn't paid the monthly hosting fee and the site has been taken down by the hosts. The fees are large and it costs him a lot each month, so I can understand his reluctance to pay for something he has no interest in. But despite a mammoth effort by the current manager (Hithero) to contact him, Mithaearon is refusing to answer emails.

I have tried to contact him myself and offered to move the site to a different server and get it back up and running, and JohnAndTricia has even offered to pay for the hosting fees - so Mith doesn't have to have anything to do with it any more, but there's still been no response.

Looking at the site now, the new message has me a little concerned - it's saying that the site content can't be found - which means it's been deleted or moved elsewhere.

It's very sad because a few thousand active members from round the globe are going to be extremely disappointed, not to mention the massive archive of articles that my be lost.
