So someone requested I post my rules for the survival mode I made last August during a mega battle with muppetslayer and knighty. It is fun to play but we were kinda making it up as we went along. I have refined it slightly for you lovely people and would love to work on it more with feedback.

I was in the process of adding weapon emplacements (bolt throwers etc), I'll see if I can find that snippet in my notebook.

So take a look and let me know what you think. You can even play it solo if you wish but 3 players is the optimum number.

hmm i looked at it and im kinda confused on the gear costs it seems a bit hard to tell what costs what in some things. eg: elf bow/ elf 2 h blade i cant tell the cost is it 5 or 10 and when i see the shield and bow i cant see a cost at all :/ can u fix it please?


edit: nvm my word doc was being stupid on me. all fine now :D

just want to build upon your senario a bit because it kinda had a few holes to it eg: table size. so heres a modifed version of this just because i felt it needed to be build a little more.

Appreciate it, this was a spur of the moment thing and tbh, table size doesnt really matter. We have played it on 2 bits of goblin town and on a 2x2 square board and it works fine on either. Just scale up the enemies.

Shouldn't heavy armour be 5pts, as RotNs already have armour?

Maybe I didn't read cearfully but what warriors/elites are included in the Waves? It makes a difference if you are fighting moria goblins and prowlers or uruk-hais and berserkers :D

i did a test run with me and 1 other person and it diden't seem to me it was a survival at all :/ (well we were just fighting moria goblins) kill points to be used to modify rolls kills the game in my experience and we diden't even use a single barrier. and for elites we just used the best troops the book your using. eg: bowmen prowlers. gadabad goblins and some two handed prowler's. so ya some of my change's killed the game in some way back to rewriting when i feel like it :).

you're playing it wrong then ;) if it is too easy then add in more enemies. Also, play it on a smaller board, then it gets tough.

What about Elladan & Elrohir and Murin & Drar? Can you count them as too heroes each costing 70 or 75 points or one model costing 140 or 150 points?
