Does the Hobbit set worth to buy? Are the scenarios enjoyable? I just ask it, cause my first LOTR set was the Moria box, and I never played any of those scenarios, cause I found to difficult to manage so much hero ability. |

imo its a great set to buy for the amount of figures for the money and scenery and the rules book. The scenarios are good but there is alot of Dwarf heros to keep track of, but enjoyably so. you can get it for £60 now if you shop around, buy it! |

If you don't feel comfortable with so many heroes, having a wizard, 13 dwarves and a hobbit running around may not be the best idea, although the introductory scenarios in the box only require 3-4 of them at a time. The main attraction is of course also the goblin army: if you like them and would want to build a Goblin Town army, the provided heroes and 36 warriors are an excellent start. I personally didn't like the design of most of the dwarves, nor that of the goblins, so there was little point in buying the set. It's a great way to get the latest rules and quite a number of models though, and those don't have to be used with the scenarios included of course. |

Personally I'd recommend it. Its about 1/3 the price of purchasing everything individually |

I haven't played the scenarios but I would defo recommend getting it... The entire set is really quite fantastic quality. Although I'm actually trading the goblins and the scenery on because I don't really like them, I cannot deny the detailing in them. |

"I cannot deny the detailing in them." What does it mean? |

Bastion.HUN wrote: "I cannot deny the detailing in them." What does it mean? The detail on the miniatures is very good. As with most of the new Hobbit range. I'd get it if you want either the dwarves of the goblins, as you can sell the other ones on. If you are just after the rulebook, try to look on ebay for one. |

Are the dwarves & co played as heroes with their unique powers in the sample scenarios, or as generic units with their stats only like in the MoM box set? |

Might, Fate, Heroic actions, magic and even the One Ring are introduced as you advance through the scenarios. The quick start guide acknowledges that once you bring in these special rules Thorin and Company become quite beastly. They recommend that you increase the # of goblins and introduce their special rules as well when you go back to play earlier scenarios. |
