Yesterday I played a 700 pt SBG game against a relatively new player. He had just finished painting a box of Uruk-hai, so he wanted to use an Isengard Army. I let him borrow my uruks, berserkers, a troll, Saruman, Vrasku and the dreaded Grima. Since I hadn't ever used them, I used my Easterlings/Morgul Knights. We didn't bother LoME, but the lists were legal (I think). There wasn't any terrain, just line-em-up and knock-em-down.
Forces (don't recall exactly what they were, but here's an approximation):
Me: Easterlings (8 bow, 8 pike and shield, 8 shield), Amdur, Dragon Knight, 3 Morgul Knights, the Mouth on horse, and the Dark Marshal on horse.
Him: Uruk-hai (alot, I think 10 shields, 18 pikes), 4 berserkers, 1 troll, Vrasku, Saruman and Grima.
The game lasted about 1 hour, maybe 1.5 hours, but my pike block got smashed, my sorcerers were able to take Saruman out of the game for most of the game, my archers held off the troll for almost the whole game (he killed 3 archers in the whole game) and my Morgul Knights were ripped apart after skewering his berserkers. By the last turn of the game, I had Amdur, 2 archers and a pikeman left vs Saruman, Grima, Vrasku, a troll and 12 Uruks. The game ended when all but the pikeman fled and Vrasku sniped the him.
In all, it was a fun game against a new opponent (who won) and taught me that a Knight Commander on horse with a Morgul Knight banner bearer would be better than the DM and taught him that Isengard is awesome.
