We gave the combination of Maelstrom (which I do not usually like) and Seize the prize a go a couple of weeks ago. This will be round one of our one day charity event @ Tempest later this month. I figure that this is a combination to wake us up on a Saturday morning! I just hope the deployment zones do not get flooded with Moria Goblins. http://roughwotr.blogspot.com/2011/07/b ... ngard.html I think it works well and I like Maelstrom much better for this particular victory condition. Thanks for reading. |

Very nice battle report... I loved that Angmar won in the last turn... |

Thanks Hilbert, the game was very close and Berserkers vs Uruks in defensible terrain is a combat that on average I should lose. So I was lucky to win that and get the fifth objective, at the death. (edit: No typing before coffee, it should be a rule.) |

Yes but after this battle your warriors exhausted as they were froze and died... Kidding... Yes luck sometimes are with us and soemtimes isn't... Even if I believe that everythign happens or a reason... |

Ordinarily, I don't find luck to be a decider but I think that my opponent did everything right (not that I feel I did anything wrong, aside from being too rash with Buhrdur) and I am amused that I still got to, narrowly, beat him. In the context of a three round mini-comp, I am going to have to think about how to relatively weigh the primary (prize tokens) and secondary (VPs) objectives for the overall result. I think I was ahead on VPs there (NRBH) but it is close - he lost more coys and a couple of captains but I lost a VH2K hero-monster and a fair few guys too. |
