Hi, thought I'd share some pictures of our latest meeting.
Place where it all happened: HQ Gaming Club Sint-Niklaas (Belgium)
We rolled for a scenario and Lords Of Battle turned up.
My Army Of The Dead, being led by Aragorn (we houseruled it, because the King Of The Dead s***s).
The good side (750 pts): Army Of The Dead + Dol Amroth Cavalry + Dol Amroth Foot Knights
The table.
Initial setup + first turn. On the left you can see Aragorn calling a Heroic March to close in on the Easterling Archers that have taken position on the hill. He's accompanied by two Riders of the Dead, to prevent him from being outnumbered too heavily.
Below the hill is a regiment of Uruk Hai pikemen, lead by Lurtz. I hoped he wouldn't take them away from the centre, because they were obviously positioned to receive the Dol Amroth cavalry charge.
I especially liked how all the Easterlings, lead by Kamul The Easterling were watching the battle unfold on the other side of the board.
One of the Easterling regiments rushed towards the centre, while my cavalry advanced cautiously, not being too keen on charging into the pikes.
Eventually both sides clashed. That's what the game is about. Right?
In the left corner below you can see a winning hand ...
We had a dramatic turn in which we tied four combats and I lost the deciding dice roll in every one of them. When all of those combats resulted in casualties, I knew I was in trouble...
Aragorn started calling Heroic Combats, to kill more enemies each turn. He should have done that way earlier. Another lesson learned...
I'll end the battle report with a view from the winning side.
A lot of fun was had, some lessons were learned. No let's go painting
Thank you for watching!
