Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a quick and easy method for painting army of the dead, I'm not looking for anything fancy just a simple basecoat, wash or two and a drybrush however I'm not sure on which paints to use so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Billy

I've been working on some Army of the Dead guys lately. My quick method is as follows:

Basecoat -- Astronomicon Grey
Wash -- Thraka Green (Heavy)
Drybrush -- Astronomicon Grey

It's never going to win any awards, but I am strictly a tabletop painter. I'll try to post a pic in a little bit.

My army of the dead are:

1)Black basecoat
2) Heavy Codex Grey drybrush
3) Skull White dry brush
4) Hawk Turquoise wash
5) Snot green wash

Easy as 5 steps. I think it looks good :D

Those do look good! I prefer to do mine to match the Evil Shades and soforth as my plan was always to use them in War of The Ring. I tended to paint the metallic stuff separately, though. It was quite a lot more involved.

Sorry forgot to reply
Thanks for the help guys, I'm loving the simplicity of John's method as they do indeed look great however I love the look of UKfreddybear's greyish warriors, do you think a badab black (or whatever it's called now) wash instead of snot green would help give a less green more grey look without looking silly??
(no idea here very inexperienced painter  )
Thanks again for the help

I am using a Badab Black wash over the Dheneb Stone basecoat on my Goblin Town Goblins and it gives a good grey base to the model. Check out this picture.

The left side of the model has not be reset to Dheneb Stone, so that is what it looks like with just the wash.
